A Body Tuning and Mobility instructor in Japan with my practices based on the Hako Body Tuning method. Learning from Hako and teaching her method to my dance students reignited my passion for the body which became the catalyst that motivated me to help people, like me, release their stress, trauma & pain through gentle movement.
This is my story:
I was born and raised in beautiful South Africa. As an extremely active child I spent most of my time outside rolling in (... and eating) dirt or at the studio learning ballet. I eventually found myself dancing professionally, becoming a massage therapist and a Reiki healer.
However, at 24 I began to lose stamina, felt tired often and by 27, after moving to Japan, was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease. During this time I had also managed to make it out of an abusive marriage which led to 2 more years stuck in a very dark place. I stopped socialising, barely left the house & my self-worth became pretty much non-existent.
In my dysregulated state I tried different types of active self care like yoga & going on walks in the hopes that I would accelerate the healing process but I ended up making myself feel worse. (Now I know it’s because my hormones were imbalanced and my body had its walls up which meant it wasn’t prepared to receive care).
However, one day I was introduced to Hako and her method. I really liked that I could feel the tension releasing & my body relaxing all because of some simple massages and small movements. It’s a truly wonderful feeling that everyone should experience! Over time I have watched my body change shape and my posture improve. Practicing her method has helped me reconnect with my body and really understand WHY it’s important & a need to tune regularly.

FAQs
I have disabilities & mobility/medical issues. Can I still do body tuning?
Of course! Body tuning is for everyone from all walks of life. From young children to the elderly. Modifications can be made if you’re unable to sit on the floor or have a hard time sitting down and getting up. There will always be a way to make it work for you!
Do I need to have my webcam on during my session?
Yes, please. I will need to be able to see you so that I can map out your problem areas and be able to see how you move. Seeing you is also important so I can make sure you are practicing each method properly.
What should I wear?
During the consultation I recommend wearing form fitting clothing like leggings or pants as I will need to evaluate your form and posture. For regular body tuning sessions please wear clothing that is comfortable and doesn’t put too much strain on your joints.
Can I can cancel my session?
Yes, within a minimum of 24 hours before your session is scheduled to begin.
Can I book more than one FREE consultation?

WHAT IS HAKO BODY TUNING?
A Japanese wellness method created by Hako that promotes conscious living by following the Japanese custom of being intentional with how you move and use your body as well as what you feed your body i.e. food & thoughts.
I realised it’s important to face yourself and create the time and opportunity to loosen, tune and return to your original natural body. It’s not about working hard and adding things onto your routine... but rather, our duty to ourselves is to subtract the load that we have added to our bodies through these unnatural movements. What my method prides itself on is that the “movements to subtract” are simple and can be done by anyone, anywhere - Hako
